Our Founder and Chairman, Ian Cartwright, originally set up the business back in 1986 to fill a need. To give specialist and bespoke financial services to an often badly-catered-for market; those with £5-250m in assets under management, the small and medium sized DB pension trusts.
We originally started out in Godalming, Surrey. Over 35 years on, Cartwright operates nationwide from two offices located in Farnborough and Chelmsford.
We’ve grown mostly through organic expansion. Two strategic acquisitions strengthened key areas of our business. The acquisition of Barnes & Sherwood Limited in 2006 saw the first administration office open in Farnborough while the second acquisition of the trust based pensions business of Gallagher Benefits Consulting saw the second administration office open in Chelmsford in 2013.
Today, Cartwright Pension Trusts has a strong, highly experienced and expert team of 100 people. Four core teams; actuarial, pensions administration, pensions management and investment consulting, all work together seamlessly to provide truly bespoke solutions for each customer.
We adopted a ‘pioneering’ approach from the outset and that same spirit remains today as we continually seek new and innovative ways to improve client outcomes, systems and methodologies.
Originating in the pensions market we saw how our unique skill-set could benefit other sectors too and have recently branched into other sectors, to offer the same unique expertise.
