News Updates and Press Releases:Cartwright launches 2026 Bitcoin Review

Cartwright Pension Trusts, the pension specialist for defined benefit and hybrid schemes, today published its second annual Bitcoin Review, providing pension trustees, investors and advisers with a practical assessment of how Bitcoin has evolved over the past year.

Cartwright: The Bitcoin Review 2026 examines what has happened in Bitcoin over the past year, where it stands today and what comes next. It covers developments in regulation, institutional and sovereign adoption, corporate balance sheets, energy use and the wider monetary backdrop, alongside Bitcoin’s price and adoption and the different routes available to investors seeking exposure.

Arash Nasri, Senior Investment Consultant, at Cartwright Pension Trusts, said: “Bitcoin is becoming increasingly difficult for institutional investors to ignore. We are seeing developments across regulation, access, sovereign adoption and corporate adoption that would have seemed very different just a few years ago. For pension trustees, that does not mean that Bitcoin should necessarily form part of a scheme’s portfolio. But, it does mean they need to understand what is happening, consider the potential implications for their scheme and be comfortable with the reasons for either taking an interest or deciding that it is not appropriate.

“We hope this year’s review gives investors the information and context they need to understand how Bitcoin has developed, assess its relevance to their portfolios and make informed decisions about what, if anything, they want to do next.”

The Bitcoin Review 2026 is intended as an educational resource for pension trustees, investors and advisers and other organisations, including charity trustees, seeking to understand the opportunities, risks and wider implications of Bitcoin.
